Superintendent McLean visits our High Support programs

Superintendent McLean visits our High Support programs, creating moments of genuine connection. Seeing students naturally pull up chairs to chat with him engaged, comfortable, and excited shows the positive atmosphere these informal check-ins inspire.

Art Therapy Program

Mrs. Carre’s Grade 6 class took part in an Art Therapy program where students drew themselves as trees, using colours, roots, and tree size to express their personalities, values, and feelings.

Celebrating the CO-OP Program

We’re celebrating the success of our co-op program that supports students with special needs as they gain real-world work experience and increasing independence. Thanks to dedicated staff, supportive local businesses, and the hard work of students like Jesse and Michael MacKinnon, the program is becoming a strong pathway to confidence, inclusion, and future employment.

We pleased to present the winning artwork for the 2025 DSB1 Holiday Card Contest!

Created by a student attending R. Ross Beattie Public School, this design will proudly be featured on the cover of our 2025 DSB1 holiday card and widely distributed across our communities during the month of December and beyond.

Thank you to every DSB1 student who submitted beautiful entries for our annual DSB1 Holiday Card Contest!

Strategic Plan

We are pleased to share our 2025-2029 Strategic Plan, which guides our collective work towards preparing our learners for their future success.

The Strategic Plan focuses on three key priorities: Achieve, Belong and Create. Each priority is supported by three strategic actions to guide decision-making, measure progress, and strengthen impact.
