Timmins High SHSM Business and Arts & Culture

Timmins High SHSM Business and Arts & Culture students took a learning trip to Ottawa, exploring post-secondary options and Canada’s culture. They toured Parliament and ByWard Market, visited the Bank of Canada Museum, and explored the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College. Students also visited the National Gallery and attended a professional ballet, gaining valuable insight into careers in business, arts, and culture while building independence.

Science North

Students from Elk Lake, Kerns, and Temagami Public Schools took part in hands-on coding and science activities when Science North visited. Junior students worked with micro:bits, while younger students explored salmon life cycles through coding. We’re grateful to Science North for engaging our students!

Mayor For a Day

Students at JHKPS participated in an engaging presentation about their local township and the role of a mayor, which brought Social Studies to life. They were then challenged by the Mayor of Matheson and Executive Assistant Allana Schmidt to share what changes they would make as Mayor for a Day, and Teaghan, a Grade 6 student, was selected as the winner and earned the opportunity to serve in that role.

Administrative Professionals Day

On Administrative Professionals Day, we celebrate the dedication, organization, and care that keep our schools and workplaces running smoothly. Behind every successful day is a team of professionals who support, connect, and uplift those around them.
