Colouring Connections: Students Design Welcome Banner

CPS Grade 7 & 8 students recently participated in a lunchtime mindfulness coloring group, where they worked together to create a beautiful welcome banner. The banner is now proudly displayed in the school hall to promote inclusivity, foster a sense of belonging, and help create a welcoming atmosphere for all students and staff.

The Bee Man Buzzes Into Our Classroom!

Mrs. Phippen’s classroom enjoyed a sweet and exciting visit from Mr. Walker, the Bee Man. Students learned about the roles of the queen, worker, and large-eyed drone bees, and discovered how a beekeeper's smoker safely calms a hive. The hands-on presentation gave everyone a chance to try on heavy, protective beekeeping gear before finishing the day by tasting and labeling their very own take-home jars of fresh Walker Honey.

Year-End Celebration & Mental Health Week Success

Students from IFSS and ESCHS gathered at Timmins Fitness Alternatives to celebrate a successful year of promoting student mental health through groups like the IFSS Jack Chapter, ESCHS GSA, and Student Council. This capped off a fantastic Mental Health Week at IFSS, which featured therapy dog visits, a resource fair, sports, crafts, and a "Pie Your Teacher" wellness fundraiser.
