Red Dress Art Installation

“For us, the dress represents the missing and murdered Indigenous women. It helps us commemorate them”, shared students Kara, Madison, and Sophia.

This art installation was created collaboratively by Kara Ruel (Designer), Ella Atanas-Brooks, Sophia Brooks, Kaitlyn Morris, Madison Payeur, Ally Rocheleau, Jenna Stewart, and Makenna Villneff. The dress was made using different processes, including ripping paper and creating fans and cones.

This red dress art installation is proudly displayed in the foyer at District School Board Ontario North East’s (DSB1) Schumacher Board Office.
