World Youth Skills Day

Today, July 15, marks World Youth Skills Day which focuses on helping to ensure young Canadians are equipped with the skills, tools, supports, knowledge, and education to succeed as they prepare to enter the labour market.

DSB1 is excited to announce its partnership with the Timmins Learning Centre to host a FREE Summer Literacy Club from July 12 to August 18, 2022!

National Indigenous Peoples Day

Across DSB1, students and staff honoured National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, 2022. At Iroquois Falls Secondary School, students demonstrated their recognition of Indigenous culture through painted illustrations.

Student Artwork Showcase at the Timmins Museum Art Show & Sale

After responding to an open call for submissions, pieces of artwork created by talented Grade 12 students at Iroquois Falls Secondary School were selected to display and to sell amidst works from other local artists, at the Timmins Museum Art Show & Sale until August 15, 2022.

Students at Englehart Public School raised over $10,000 for the local habitat for humanity by entering into a writing contest!
